After Finding Own Success, Family Surprises OFW Dad with New Van

After finding their own success, a family surprises their OFW dad with a new van upon his arrival in the Philippines – and it’s a sweet and grand gesture that touched so many netizens’ hearts.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all do these to our parents to pay off the sacrifices they made for us?

Family Surprises OFW Dad with New Van

Families of OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) often had to adjust to a life where a family member is away for many years. They can only see this family member every few years or so, but only for a short time.

Of course, these sacrifices the OFW are making are meant to provide their families with a better life.

What’s sweet is when the family members acknowledge that sacrifice and find a way to pay it back – even if the OFW isn’t asking for anything in return.

That’s what happened to the family of Edelyn Gonzalvo, now a successful online seller, businesswoman, and owner of EG Trends Apparel.

She shared that their father became an OFW back when they were still kids.

Like many OFW kids, they grew up with their dad physically away but close in their hearts.

For decades, it was their dad who provided for the family, sent them to school, etc.

Now that they have found their success in life, Edelyn knew it was their turn to give back.

So, they decided to surprise their dad with a new van when it was time for him to go home again.

It was something they did to thank their dad for all his sacrifices, the online seller explained.

The post went viral, with many netizens wishing that all children were as kind and generous as the Gonzalvos.
