Countless OFWs spend many years away from their families, missing the milestones and important occasions in their children’s lives.

Yet they can’t help it. Sadly, they chose this to provide a better life for their family.

Recently, a TikTok video posted by user @geney_05 went viral. It shows a young boy in school uniform (possibly PE uniform) getting picked up from school and ushered into an SUV.

But once the boy enters the vehicle, he cried upon seeing that the driver is his dad.

The surprised kid shouted, “Daddy!?” before crying happy tears. He couldn’t contain his emotions as he kept on glancing at his dad, perhaps trying to make sure that this is really his dad picking him up from school.

TikTok uploader @geney_05 jokingly captioned that they were about to burst into tears over the emotional moment but the boy suddenly stopped crying. LOL.

The boy was later identified as Lucas Tejada Tapang. It turned out that his dad wasn’t the only one working abroad, in the Middle East, but his mom works there as well.

Vanessa Tejada, the boy’s mom, explained that she and her husband work as nurse at a military hospital in Saudi.

How Are Military Hospitals Different From Regular Hospitals?

Military hospitals are hospitals that are owned and operated by the armed forces of a country.

Many are reserved for the use of the country’s military personnel and their dependents. However, some are also available to civilians in some countries.

These hospitals might have units that for certain specialties, rehab, and care for military-related issues.
