How to Get Overseas Jobs from the POEA

Securing a job from the POEA has lots of benefits since you are assured that the overseas job offered is legal and the employer is reputable. Moreover, you don’t have to pay placement fee and the processing period is usually quick since the job requirement is usually urgent.

Follow these simple steps to secure an overseas jobs from the POEA.

1. Look for urgent job openings.

You may search for available job openings at POEA’s official website, official social media pages like Facebook and Twitter, as well as its bulletin boards in its main office, regional and satellite branches. You may also check job posts through online advertisements, radio ads and print ads.

2. Submit your application.

To submit your job application online, register at  www.eregister.poea.gov.ph. Refistering at the POEA manpower registry system allows you to be part of the roster of applicants that can be considered for future job openings.

3. Personally apply.

You may also apply personally at the POEA Building, Manpower Registry Division, Ground Floor, Windows S & T, EDSA corner Ortigas Avenue, Mandaluyong City or go to the nearest POEA regional or satellite branch. Requirements such as detailed resume with one piece 2x 2 picture, college diploma, transcript of records, valid PRC ID (if applicable), employment certificates, valid TESDA certificate (if applicable), copy of valid passport, valid NBI clearance and other necessary documents must be submitted personally.

4. Attend a pre-documentation briefing.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a pre-documentation briefing to be held at the Recruitment and Documentation Division (RDD), Government Placement Branch (GPB) at the POEA main office.

5. Decide if you are willing to accept the job offer.

Applicants will be asked to carefully study the employment contract during the briefing to help them in deciding whether to accept the job offer or not.

6. Undergo medical exam and pre-departure orientation seminar (PDOS).

After accepting the job offer, you will need to undergo a medical examination at accredited OFW hospitals or medical clinics. Once you pass the medical exam, you will be required to attend a PDOS at the POEA main office.

7. Submit OFW documentation requirements.

Applicants must submit a duly accomplished OFW information sheet, duly executed employment contract/offer, original and photocopy of passport, original and photocopy of medical certificate, certificate of PDOS, original and photocopy of NBI clearance, duly accomplished visa application form, copy of visa authorization. ability, and 3pcs passport size pictures (colored with white background).

You will also be required to pay POEA processing fee, OWWA membership contribution, Philhealth-Medicare, Visa Fee and Pag-ibig contribution.

8. Secure your exit clearance.

Once you get your Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC), which also serves as your POEA travel exit clearance, you must attend a pre-flight briefing carried out by GPB Account Officer at the Government Placement Branch. Wait for the release of your travel documents such as passport, visa, original employment contract and plane ticket.
