Girl Refuses to Let OFW Dad Go, Cries Her Heart Out at the Bus Station

Each day in the Philippines, a family sends off a loved one who will be working away for the next couple of months, even years. Such partings are often heartbreaking even if the families as well as the OFWs know that the separation is temporary and it is for them to have a better future.

Global Trends TODAY shared the video of netizen Madhel Puerto. It shows a dad about to say goodbye to his family at a bus station.

Although he was not named in the post, this father was identified to be an OFW.

This father needs to work abroad, in order to provide a good life for his family. But the pain and sadness of a child are never that easy. How far can you go to make them happy?” the caption read.

In the heartbreaking video, a young girl could be seen crying her heart out and trying her best to keep her dad from stepping inside that bus. She clings hard to her dad despite his efforts to break away from the tight embrace.

The mother was also having difficulties keeping the child from screaming and kicking but all she could do was support the child because the parting surely feels difficult for her as well. In the video, the kid continues to cry as she holds her dad, begging him not to go.

Of course, he has to go and was eventually able to break away from the embrace to get on the bus. Sadly, the kid’s crying increased. It was truly heartbreaking to watch – and we could just imagine what this dad was feeling at the time.

But netizens were angry at the parents for letting this kid experience such heartbreak. Many said that the parents should have known better than to bring the child to the bus station to actually see her dad leaving. Others suggested for parents to simply let the child stay at home and distract her there while her dad goes away.

Do you agree?
