OFW Mom and Daughter’s Surprise Graduation Moment Goes Viral
It’s a sad reality for many OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) that they have to miss many milestones and important moments in their family’s lives because they live so far away and can’t go home so easily to attend each of these special occasions.
That’s why many feel so lucky each time they get to come home just in time for a big event, such as a debut, wedding, or a child’s graduation day.
And it’s also a sweet surprise for their families to have them back home.
Just like Ella Jean R. De Goma who recently graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in International Tourism Management.
She had no idea that her mother was able to come home and that she was just waiting among the other parents during the graduation ceremony.
As her name was called on stage to receive her diploma and medal as the first honor of her batch, she didn’t realize immediately that her mom also followed her on stage.
So, this young lady had the surprise of a lifetime when she turned around and saw her mom! She happily hugged her mom and the two shared a sweet reunion moment on stage.
Quickly realizing what was happening, the other graduates gave the two a hearty round of applause.
Ella Jean’s OFW mom was the one who put the medal around her neck. It really was a sweet accomplishment for this dedicated student and her hardworking mom.
Congratulations to you both!
