Pinay Nurse in the US Receives Brand New Car from Ellen DeGeneres

In appreciation of the hard work and dedication shown by frontline workers, The Ellen de Generes’ Show, in partnership with Hyundai, has featured the incredible ones and gifted them with brand new cars.

One of the lucky ones to be selected by the show is Filipina, Flor Roz, a nurse caring for COVID-19 patients.

“I became a nurse because since I was a kid, I love helping people. The pandemic has changed everything. People who are sick, since they cannot be visited by their families, I will be the one who’s gonna be by their side and let them know that there is this person who loves them,” Flor said.

Because of her exposure to patients infected with the coronavirus, and has not been home with her husband and two-year-old son. Last March, Flor also got infected and it affected them financially because she had to stop working.

A blessing

Flor said that she currently shares a car with her husband.

“If I don’t have the car, I sometimes ask my co-workers to pick me up and I walk or sometimes I take Uber,” she shared.

It was at this point that Ellen DeGeneres and Andy Lassner parked by Flor’s driveway with a brand-new car.

Ellen told Flor that what she has been doing is amazing and expressed her gratitude.

“Just know how much we love you and appreciate you and when you’re exhausted, in those times that you can barely go on anymore, just remember how many people love you and how many people are so grateful for you,” the TV host said.

“I know that you and your husband are sharing one car. So, I’ve partnered with Hyundai and they want to thank you for your service. They want to give you this Hyundai Palisade. This is your car. No more Ubers for you,” Ellen said.
