Son Who Lost OFW Mom in Singapore Crash: “Please Come Home, Ma”

The heartbreaking plea of a young man who lost his OFW mom in a freak car accident in Singapore has gone viral, with many crying along with him as he wishes for his mother to come home.

Abigail Danao Leste has been in Singapore for 14 years as overseas Filipino worker (OFW), only coming home to the Philippines every few years for a short vacation. The last time she had seen her family was in 2016; though she is always with her sister who also works in Singapore.

Sadly, Abigail and her sister perished in the freak accident last December 29 while they were hanging out with other OFW friends outside Lucky Plaza mall. A car reportedly made a U-turn and sped towards where the Filipinas were having a picnic.

Unable to accept her untimely passing and missing the mom they had barely seen in 14 years, Abigail’s eldest child Jhef Umoquit Leste wrote a heartbreaking post for his mother.

Mom, what are we going to do now? You even called us yesterday and we had a good conversation. And then something happened to you,” Jhef wrote in Ilocano, reported The Summit Express.

Please come home to us, you have been away for 14 years, that is enough. Please come home alive even though our lives won’t be easy. Please come home. We cannot live without you, mom. I will wait here with my younger sibling.

The two are hoping their mother would be home, just in time for them to celebrate the New Year. They tearfully pled that she come back home alive. Sadly, that’s not going to happen.

You’re the only one left to help us. We will wait for you to join us to celebrate the New Year. We haven’t been together since 2016. Please come home. We miss you. We can’t go on without you. We don’t know what to do,” Jhef wrote in the heartbreaking plea that got a lot of netizens crying.
