For overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), loneliness is often a huge problem; but many are able to cope by chatting up with friends and connecting with loved ones. Many find new love online; though that sometimes lead to conflict with the OFW’s real families.
Recently, an OFW went viral for the sweet video of the first time he met his girlfriend of 2 years.

“When you meet someone for the first time, that’s not the whole book. That’s just the first page. The happiest moment I’ve ever felt,” wrote JAy M Escobar as he shared the video with his girlfriend, Rhei Plasencia.
While Jay did not detail their love story, he explained in other posts that he has been working in Japan for 3 years. He and Rhei became a couple online, but his recent homecoming appears to be the very time he met his girlfriend in person.

In the video, May Escobar Iguales, whom Jay credited for the video, could be heard teasing Rhei about how she feels about meeting her boyfriend for the very first time. Rhei shyly smiled at the camera as their friends shrieked when Jay came into view.

As can be seen in the video, the two were a bit awkward towards each other – and that’s to be expected for their first meeting, especially with their friends being there and teasing them. LOL. But Jay would later share more pictures of them together; this time, they truly look more at ease with each other. They are surely so in love.

Many netizens pointed out that Jay would surely be back to Japan after his vacation. Still, many are hoping that the lovebirds would continue being in love with other and that their love story which fascinated the internet will bring them to the altar…
